Expanding from retail into hospitality, including tea rooms, home interiors brand Laura Ashley has three hotel franchises owned by Corus Hotels, including the newly refurbished Burnham Beeches Hotel, Slough, near Windsor and Royal Ascot.
Laura Ashley is a quintessentially British design brand and one of the world’s most popular fashion and home furnishing retailers. They, and our Essence and Connect Naturals Collections of carpets, were the perfect fit for bringing classic country house style to this elegant Georgian country house hotel.
The project’s designer, Kay Cullen of Laura Ashley Design, created the interiors of the function rooms and 82 guestrooms of the Burnham Beeches Hotel. Her goal was to make the room light and airy and suitable for leisure and corporate guests so she created a contemporary and fresh atmosphere that reflected the building’s style.
Cool greys and deep charcoals with pops of cranberry and teal give the schemes its contemporary pallet, with touches of yellow and Charcoal in the signature suite. Old-style phones, beautifully styled headboards and large gold mirrors add an air of retro luxury.
To maintain a continuous impression, Mist from our Essence Stock Collection with its tailed stripes in greys were the perfect choice for the guestrooms. They have a luxurious feel under foot yet are a good practical option. For the corridor to the guestrooms Kay used a contemporary pattern by specifying ‘Atlas’ from our Connect Naturals Collection with a 20cm border edge in Connect ‘Steel’. Connect Natural’s geometric pattern perfectly reflected the design brief.
